What regional issue do you believe most affects your municipality (such as crime, roads, schools, etc.) and what role do you believe your municipality can play in improving it?: Road infrastructure is a difficult element to deal with because of all the various parties involved. Continued dialogue with groups like MUMPO are important and the Town just needs to keep fighting to improve the road network. Schools are also an area of controversy. When speaking to Smart Growth, it doesn’t make sense to bus children clear across the other side of Town. it’s wasteful. (remaining words lost)
Do you believe there could be better collaboration among the municipalities in Mecklenburg County? If so, what would you suggest to improve it?: Communication can always be better. Why don’t local municipalities-the Town Boards and their advisory boards take the time to share their aspirations and compare notes. Why are similar issues of Tree Ordinances and Smart Growth not being shared between Towns like Matthews, Mint Hill, and Indian Trail. These Towns are all nested against one another.
