• Small business owner – Scale Finance LLC. Provides CFO and Controller Services to small companies and helps clients raise equity or debt capital and manage through mergers & acquisitions

2. New fire station and new fireboat coming soon
3. New Animal Shelter
4. Delay of property revaluation for at least 2 years
5. Clearing the way for new Elementary School, new Middle School, and new High School
Why are you running for the office of your choice?: To preserve what we all love about Cornelius, NC – its beauty and high architectural standards, low taxes, small town feel, vibrant/entrepreneurial economy, modern infrastructure, customer-friendly services, “light touch” of local government, and special distinctiveness as one of the finest places to live in the world.
What makes you the most qualified candidate?: Experience and proven voting record. The reason why I was the top vote-getter in 2005 is that my priorities closely match 80% or more of Cornelius citizens. I have been unwavering for almost a decade of service on the Cornelius Planning Board and Town Commission on three critically important priorities which I share with the vast majority of Cornelius residents, (1) limiting residential growth, (2) spending control & low taxes, and (3) commitment to making Cornelius absolutely gorgeous.
What regional issue do you believe most affects your municipality (such as crime, roads, schools, etc.) and what role do you believe your municipality can play in improving it?: Congestion. Fortunately, the greater Charlotte MSA is reasonably balanced (unlike, say Atlanta where all growth is forced north) and can absorb a certain level of growth. We just need to keep the pace moderate. Cornelius can lead in this regard.
Do you believe there could be better collaboration among the municipalities in Mecklenburg County? If so, what would you suggest to improve it?: Yes, of course. Nothing beats informal communication such as the scheduled quarterly meetings between officials from Cornelius, Huntersville, and Davidson
How can residents get involved in your campaign? Please include campaign manager or volunteer coordinator’s contact information.: Just email me – gilroy@scalefinance.com
Given the recession and the pain felt by local families, I am not raising money this year and will not accept campaign contributions.
