List up to three (3) of your most important political/civic accomplishments in the last five (5) years. (150 word limit): Convincing the County Commission to delay Revaluation until 2011

Convincing the County Commission to establish a fairer water rate for Mecklenburg County citizens.

Chairman of the county’s Efficient and Effective Government Committee which brought forth a unanimous recommendation to open up county employee giving to more nonprofit organizations.

What qualities or experience do you bring that will make you an effective county commissioner? (150 word limit): 16 years experience as an Elected Official, having been educationally prepared to do the job, having good listening skills, doing independent research and being responsive to my constituents, make me an effective County Commissioner.

Do you think county government is living up to its responsibility to adequately fund education? Please explain your position (200 word limit): The county is responsible for the capital side of education. In that regard, we have meet our responsibility. I would like for the county to provide additional funding for the operational side of the budgets for both C.P.C.C. and C.M.S. By doing so, we would provide each organization with more flexibility to meet the needs of it’s student population.
