The goal of CharMeckVotes.org is to encourage active participation among all members of the greater Charlotte community in local elections and to improve the civic health of our community between election cycles.

The site was developed in 2009 by the League of Women Voters of Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Generation Engage and Kids Voting Mecklenburg.

Kids Voting Mecklenburg is a non-partisan nonprofit (501c3) organization educating Charlotte-area elementary, middle and high school students about civic engagement and government through an effective combination of standards-based civics education and community civic experiences. Kids Voting helps students do better in school and equips them with habits and skills needed to be effective, engaged citizens and leaders and succeed in the 21st century workforce.
